An important way to keep track of your finances and improve your credit score is to check your credit report on a regular basis. There are actually 3 reports that are published separately by the 3 major credit collection bureaus Experian, Equifax and Transunion.

These credit bureaus collect information from your creditors regarding how you spend your money, the type of credit accounts you use, your monthly installments and the amounts that you have outstanding.

By law you have the right to access a free credit report once every year if you have been denied a loan, insurance or a job with in the last 60 days. You have also the right to dispute any of the information contained in your report if you can prove that it is out of date or incorrect.
